The author of The Penny Hoarder, Kyle Taylor, is a 23 year old college student who has made a living with his ridiculous money-making methods. He got his start clipping coupons at 15 to help his single mom pay the grocery bill. Within a few months he had gotten so good at finding coupons that he had reduced his family of 4′s food budget to $ 50 a month. Some weeks the grocery stores even paid him money to shop! Those experiences inspired him to discover new and exciting ways to make extra money.
